After the signing of Kyle Lafferty this week, Sunderland fans are hoping that their club doesn’t take their foot off the gas peddle regarding signings. The club are finally beginning to find their form under Phil Parkinson and, with some improvements to the squad, Sunderland could look to make a promotion push. The side hasn’t lost since mid-December and has won three out of their last five matches.
One of the names being thrown around is Liam Bridcutt. The player has had a spell with Sunderland in the past before leaving in 2016 to join Leeds United for £1.04 million. When Speak Sunderland asked fans what they thought of the potential signing, many fans dismissed it. They don’t think Bridcutt would be good business. In fact, many call him the club’s worst-ever player in his position. Another doesn’t like the idea of buying back players who have moved on in the first place.
One of the worst players we ever had and apparently he could play centre half bits about 2 foot high

This is the 3rd window when we’ve needed pace, power and strength and our recruitment team are suggesting Liam bridcutt. I am at a loss.

He no Bracewell that’s for sure .. returning players who didn’t make the cut first time round is not good business imo .. and hes not better than what we’ve already got.. stick with the young guns

Would you take Liam Bridcutt back at Sunderland?
Yes
No
Others disagree, claiming that he would be a welcome addition to Parkinson’s side. Now that they are in League One, they aren’t being too picky.
Can hold the ball well in midfield, skillful player, must be an improvement at this level, nothing to lose.

he’s a good player for this league, we lost mcgeugh so it’s another option for power and dobson, i think it’s a decent signing

What do we think?
If Sunderland does pull off the signing for Bridcutt, the fans will certainly give him a chance to prove himself. If he does have a more successful spell at the Stadium of Light this time, then it could be a massive boost to Parkinson who is hoping to bring his club back into the Championship.
