Sheffield Wednesday are still in the hunt to sign Crystal Palace striker Connor Wickham – that’s according to Dom Howson of the Star. The Owls recently announced the acquisition of Alessio Da Cruz on loan from Parma for the remainder of the season but it appears the club aren’t done yet.
The report claims that any deal for Wickham would also be a loan deal but that the club remain hopeful it can still be done between now and when the window slams shut on Friday.
Talks are said to be ongoing between the Owls and the Premier League outfit but as of yet, no deal has been struck. Regarding the potential move, there has been a mixed reaction from the Sheffield Wednesday fans.
Get it done, send, Rhodes and Winnall, in a taxi to Palace as a free gift. I don’t want to them in a Wednesday shirt again. Long suffering Wednesday fan.????????

What do we think?
You could argue Connor Wickham has failed to live up to the potential he showed at the start of his career but that’s been largely down to injury. During his first spell with Sheffield Wednesday, he made 17 appearances and scored 9 goals – that’s as good a games versus goals ratio as he’s ever had and therefore you feel a low-cost deal to bring him back could be of benefit to all parties.
