Rangers fans may have been nervous headed into transfer deadline day. Before deadline day the club’s only incoming business saw Jermain Defoe make his loan deal a permanent one. But today Rangers announced the signing of Ianis Hagi from Genk. The player is the son of Romanian legend Gheorghe Hagi, who played for Barcelona and Real Madrid, and will join the Gers until the end of the season. There is an option to buy on the contract, however.
The player has scored three and assisted four goals in his 19 appearances this season. But the aspect of Hagi’s game that might excite them the most is that he is ambipedal. This basically means he is ambidextrous, but with his feet. This was made evident after a Rangers fan account published a video of Hagi scoring two penalties in one match, but using a different foot to score each. The Rangers support were excited by the footage, claiming it is exactly what the team needs.

Others point to Ryan Kent as being a player on the team who currently possesses a similar talent. They think the pair will link up quite nicely.
Lubmv this. Ryan Kent also takes corners with both feet. Just a wee sidenote there

What do we think?
If Rangers do manage to win two penalties in one game later in the season, at least they know that Hagi will be able to step up and do the job. But the supporters are likely more excited to see the young player utilise his talents during open play as well.
