Rangers fans were delighted with what manager Steven Gerrard had to say about Jermain Defoe this week.
In a pre-match conference, Gerrard discussed the on-loan forward, saying: There should hopefully be some news on Defoe in the next day or two. He is massive on and off the pitch, the goal against St Mirren wasn’t lucky he knows where to be inside the box. Jermain is perfect to work with Alfredo (via Rangers FC).
The 37-year-old striker scored the only goal of the game as the title hopefuls beat St. Mirren 1-0 on Wednesday night, which puts the Gers just two points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table. Some Gers fans are hoping that Gerrard’s suggestion may be that Defoe could sign on a permanent deal during this month’s transfer window after the experienced forward notched his 16th goal of the season.
Do you think Defoe will sign permanently this month?

I think he trying to tie Defoe down on a permanent deal didn’t see anything that would show any injury Wednesday well I’m hoping that’s what this means

These Rangers fans are clearly convinced that Defoe will be joining on a permanent deal this month after Gerrard’s latest comments.
What do we think?
Defoe has shown this season he is still very capable of contributing goals and Gers fans will be delighted to see him working with Alfredo Morelos, hopefully on a permanent basis if he does sign permanently this month.
