Some Celtic fans have reacted to the jersey number unveiling of their new January signing Ismaila Soro.
The Ivory Coast midfielder completed the move to Parkhead last night, signing a four-year deal at the club. The Scottish Sun revealed that the transfer fee for the midfielder is at £2 million and he has become the club’s second signing of the winter after Patryk Klimala.
Can Soro turn out to be better than Gamboa?
No chance of that
Soro will be a bigger star!
The club’s official Twitter handle posted a video of them showing that Soro will wear the number 12 at Celtic. And the Hoops fans reacted to it in different ways.
The disrespect on Gamboa here STINKS.

Soro arrives at Parkhead from Israeli club Bnei Yehuda, where he was a regular in midfield. This season, the Ivorian made 24 appearances in all competitions for the club. He couldn’t score or assist even once but 23 of those appearances came in defensive midfield.
Last season was the same for him. He made 35 appearances in all competitions for Yehuda. He got two assists for them as well.
Cristian Gamboa previously donned the number 12 jersey for the Hoops. He left the club this past summer on a free transfer after a three-year-long spell at Parkhead. During his time at Parkhead, the Costa Rica international had made 31 appearances in all competitions and got three assists for them.
What do we think?
A jersey number doesn’t really mean too much these days, especially considering it is number 12. Soro is 21-years-old and could well take his time to settle in before making an impact. It is a matter of waiting and seeing how it unfolds.
