I’d forgotten how good a goal that was from Hooper. He had a great touch, physically strong and composure. If Larsson or di Canio had done that I’m ashamed to say I would’ve remembered it. Maybe I had to many beers that day lol

Hooper is currently 31 and plies his trade with New Zealand-based side Wellington Phoenix in the A-League. He was at Celtic for a three-year period from 2010 to 2013, after which he left for Premier League side Norwich City (per Transfermarkt).
His stint at Parkhead was the most productive period of Hooper’s career. He made 138 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 82 times and racking up a tally of 30 assists as well.
Out of those, the second season of his time at the club yielded the most goals. In the 2011-12 campaign, Hooper made 50 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops. He racked up a tally of 29 goals and also grabbed as many as 11 assists for the club.
What do we think?
Hooper was a talent on his day. His spell at Parkhead gave the Englishman a real lift and helped him play in the Premier League. And that was a huge upgrade for him, considering the forward had joined Celtic from Scunthorpe. The move proved good not just for the player, but for all parties involved.
