Some Celtic fans have issued a transfer demand to the club and have been asking the club to sign a certain type of players this month.

The club has been linked with multiple players already in the ongoing January transfer window. One of them is Slovan Bratislava striker Andraz Sporar. Brighton and Sheffield United strikers Glenn Murray and Billy Sharp have also been linked with (Daily Mail, via The Scottish Sun), Cruzeiro defender Fabricio Bruno also a potential target for Neil Lennon’s men.

Celtic fans: What position needs strengthening?

But a recent Twitter post by Hoops page CelticGossip saw the fans make certain demands to the club. They suggested certain positions that the side has to strengthen in.

As things stand, the Hoops have been using a regular 4-2-3-1 shape under Neil Lennon. Christopher Jullien and Kristoffer Ajer have been the regular centre-back pairing, with Odsonne Edouard has been the regular striker. The double-pivot sees Scott Brown and Callum McGregor play regularly in midfield too.

Edouard has been in impressive form upfront, having found the back of the net 16 times and racking up 15 assists as well for the club, while playing 31 times in all competitions. Ryan Christie has also been among the goals quite often, having had a hand in a total of 30 goals while playing only 33 times in all competitions.

As for wide positions, James Forrest has been a regular on the right flank and has made 35 appearances in all competitions. The left-wing has seen Mohamed Elyounoussi and play, with young Mikey Johnston also having contributed to a total of 11 goals in all competitions for the side.

What do we think?

The Hoops are in need of some signings in the ongoing window. But the striker position should be a priority. While Edouard has been among the goals, second-choice strikers Leigh Griffiths and Lewis Morgan haven’t scored enough goals. Griffiths has three goals to his name, with Morgan scoring twice only. If the Hoops don’t score enough goals, they may not win the Premiership once again.
