While Celtic have been linked with Sporar, reports from the last two days have linked Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon with a move for the Slovenian. These are reports in Portugal, which claim that Sporting are in talks with Slovan Bratislava for the striker.
Sporar has been in impressive form so far this season for Slovan. He has found the back of the net 20 times in all competitions, also racking up five assists in a total of 26 games so far. In the UEFA Europa League, he has played six games and has found the back of the net five times and has two assists.
Last season was also a good goalscoring season for the striker. The 25-year-old played 36 games in all competitions for the club, scoring as many as 34 goals during that time and picking up nine assists on the way too.
What do we think?
Missing out on Sporar will not be too bad a thing for Celtic. He will be expensive and it won’t make sense for the Hoops to shell out a big fee for someone who is perhaps required to play as a back-up for Odsonne Edouard. There can be options that fit in the club’s plans elsewhere.
