This week Birmingham City’s U18s played in the FA Youth Cup against Barnsley. The game finished 2-1, despite the young Blues being reduced to nine men. The team played two men down for an entire half an hour.
When the club tweeted out the final result, the Birmingham City faithful shared their support for the youth team. They were thoroughly impressed with the team’s ability to see out the result. It certainly was an incredible achievement for a team so young to overcome such adversity.
Incredible lads! ?

Would you take a chance and let some of the youth move up to the first-team?
Yes
No
Another fan joked that the club would be better off if the youth side took the place of the first-team. Birmingham’s first-team are in 18th place, just eight points clear of relegation. While they aren’t at risk of the drop just yet, they aren’t sitting comfortably either.
Can we have this team instead

What do we think?
While the call for the youth side to get the Championship call-up is likely just a tongue in cheek gesture, the supporters have every right to be proud of the side. Hopefully, the young Blues can progress further in the cup and maybe at the end they will have some silverware to show for it. That, however, would be an even more impressive achievement.
