Aston Villa fans have been pleading on Twitter for the club to not sign Jack Butland in January.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @villareport shared a post on their page relaying information originally published by the Daily Mail that the club are “interested” in bringing Butland to Villa Park to replace the injured Tom Heaton.
Would you like to see Jack Butland at Villa this month?
Yes, bring him in
No, leave him
This post then gathered many replies from Villa fans who were not happy with this latest transfer rumour.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans not wanting Butland to sign this month:

Heaton picked up an injury in Villa’s 2-1 win over Burnley on Wednesday. Since then, it has been reported he will miss the rest of the season with it. Now with this latest rumour linking Stoke City’s Butland to Villa Park in an effort to replace Heaton, some Villans aren’t best pleased with the news.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Have you seen how many clangers he’s dropped this season
— Jez Heath (@heath_jez) January 2, 2020
This makes me want to cry!

I’d rather take our chances playing rush goalie tbh

What do we think?
Heaton will undoubtedly be a huge miss for Villa, having played in 20 out of their 21 Premier League games so far this season (per TransferMarkt). If the club does make a move for Butland to come in this month and replace Heaton for the rest of the season then he’ll face a big job to help keep the Villans up.
