Aston Villa fans have been pleading with the club to not sign Britt Assombalonga in the January transfer window.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @villareport shared a post on their page relaying information originally shared by the Northern Echo that Villa are “set to step up their interest” in the Middlesbrough striker.
Should Villa sign Britt Assombalonga this month?
Yes
No
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were not pleased with this latest transfer rumour.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans not wanting Assombalonga to sign this month:

The 27-year-old, who is currently valued at £9 million according to TransferMarkt, has made 21 appearances for the Championship club so far this season. In those appearances, Assombalonga has only managed to score six goals and make two assists (per TransferMarkt).
Now that a rumour has emerged that Villa are looking to bring the striker to Villa Park this month, some Villa fans have taken to Twitter to share their disappointment.
We was linked with him in the championship, we need to move on

Please no, not premier league material at all

How have we gone from being linked with giroud and Batshuayi to this

What do we think?
Given Assombalonga’s less than average goal-scoring record so far this season, it’s clear why some Villa fans don’t think he will be the answer to help the club out in the absence of first-choice striker Wesley.
