Some Celtic fans have made it clear that they’re sick of the club’s recent links with Aston Villa striker Scott Hogan in the ongoing January transfer window.
Latest reports from TeamTalk have said that the Hoops are considering a move for the striker this month, as he currently struggling for game time in his loan stint at Championship side Stoke City.
The report goes onto state that Villa will not stand in Hogan’s way if Celtic come calling for the outcast, even though they’re currently short of strikers options themselves. Summer signing Wesley has already been ruled out for the whole season due to a knee injury.
Celtic fans: Do you want Hogan at Parkhead?
Would rather have Hulk Hogan!
Not a bad option
A Celtic fan page called Celtic Gossip relayed the news and Hoops fans have made it clear that they don’t want Hogan at Parkhead.
I hope the chat about Aston Villa striker Scott Hogan is just silly season nonsense HH pic.twitter.com/jzgsH3IzLn

Waste of time the press are just making up rumours daily they haven’t got a clue who we are after. They might aswell employ me as I could come up with a list of strikers who could join Celtic

So far this season, Hogan has made 15 appearances in all competitions for Stoke. He has found the back of the net twice so far. In total, the Irishman has got only 499 minutes of first-team football at the Bet365 Stadium.
Last season, Hogan had spent the first half of the campaign at Villa but was loaned out to would-be promoted side Sheffield United in the second half. He made 15 appearances in all competitions for both sides combined, racking up two assists and one goal.
Hogan’s best goalscoring period came during his stint at Brentford in the Championship. He was there from 2014 to 2017, scoring 21 times while playing 36 games in all competitions.
What do we think?
Celtic don’t exactly need a striker who will play regularly since they already have Odsonne Edouard playing as the first-choice in the 4-2-3-1 shape.
They need a back-up who can score goals from the bench and make an impact while playing potentially fewer minutes. Hogan’s numbers from Sheffield United and Brentford show that he can have a very good goalscoring rate. A loan move from the Bhoys will make sense.
