Scottish giants Celtic have now missed out on Tottenham’s Jack Clarke as the player was in talks with Queens Park Rangers before the Hoops came in, as per FootballInsider247.

The report claims that the Hoops were indeed interested in signing Clarke and the player himself was very much interested in seeking a move to Parkhead. But QPR were already negotiating with Spurs and the player to sign the young Englishman.

The report also states that the move to QPR are expected to be announced shortly and he is in line to make his debut for the club against former club Leeds United.

In need of game time

Under the tutelage of former manager Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham signed Clarke from Leeds this past summer for a fee of £10 million. After signing him, Spurs loaned him back to his former club Leeds.

But since going back to the Elland Road-based side, Clarke has not got enough game time under Marcelo Bielsa. He has made only three appearances in all competitions for the club, playing only once in the Championship for them. The other two appearances came in the League Cup.

Before coming to Tottenham, Clarke was a regular at Leeds last season. He had made 25 appearances in all competitions for the Peacocks, scoring two goals and racking up two assists as well. 22 of those appearances had come in the Championship.

TIF Tactics

Celtic already have options stacked up on the wings and in the forward positions. James Forrest has been a regular on the right, having made 35 appearances in all competitions. Mohamed Elyounoussi has made 13 appearances in all competitions too, with Mikey Johnston also an option on the wide positions. The youngster has made 18 appearances too, scoring six times.
