Scottish giants Celtic could be forced into making a deadline day swoop because of Mikey Johnston’s injury.
The Express claim that while Celtic weren’t looking to make any signings in the ongoing January transfer window, Neil Lennon’s hand could be forced because of the injury faced by young Mikey Johnston.

After the Hoops’ recent win over St. Johnstone, Lennon had confirmed that young Mikey had suffered a ‘bad’ injury and also went onto say that he could be out for as long as two months. The former Bolton boss said that Johnston has suffered knee ligament damage in the game on Wednesday.
The Express though, don’t pick out any names that Celtic might be going for on deadline day.
Although, Celtic are reportedly in talks over a move for Victor Wanyama.
A big blow to the Hoops
So far this season, the 20-year-old Johnston has made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops. He has racked up a tally of six goals and just as many assists as well. In the Premiership, he has made 11 appearances, scoring two goals and picking up four assists as well.
His numbers are already better than last season when Johnston could contribute to only six goals in total. He played 23 games in all competitions. In the Premiership, he scored three goals in 12 appearances.
TIF Tactics
While Johnston may be out injured, but the Hoops rejecting an offer for Karamoko Dembele could be a big sign. The youngster could get a chance to impress in the absence of Johnston and that would nullify the need for the Hoops to make a signing on deadline day.
