Supporters of Wolverhampton Wanderers have shown their delight following Tim Spiers’ transfer update on Daniel Podence.
According to the Athletic reporter, a deal for the Portuguese 24-year-old ‘could be wrapped up by the weekend’ (as per Tim Spiers), which had Wolves fans going wild over the impending arrival.
A deal to sign Daniel Podence from Olympiakos is edging closer, am told it could be wrapped up by the weekend. He's comfortable on either flank (right-footed) so will compete with Traore, Jota and Neto for a starting spot #WWFC @TheAthleticUK

Who do you believe is a better left-winger?Pedro NetoDaniel Podence |
So far this term, Podence has had ten direct goal involvements for Olympiacos, five of which have come as goals and the other five as assists over 27 games in all competitions (as per Transfermarkt).
To further solidify his relatively solid season, the 24-year-old winger has a decent 6.95/10 average rating (per WhoScored), leaving many excited over his impending arrival.

I’d say Podence and Neto represent a pretty good upgrade on Cav and Costa. Well done them Wolves ?

What do we think?
With the Old Gold having been in desperate need of reinforcements when heading into January (as per Express and Star), it is good to see that there has finally been some positive movement on the transfer front.
Following the departures of Patrick Cutrone, plus the recall and then departure of Rafa Mir, the side looked light in attack and the depth that Podence will provide could be vital.
