A lot of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans are annoyed at Patrick Cutrone’s quotes about Nuno Espirito Santo after he left the Premier League for a return to Serie A.
The 22-year-old lasted just six months in the top flight before he decided that Italy suited him better.
Were Wolves wrong to let Cutrone go?
Yes, there was a player in there
No, made the right decision
Cutrone, speaking to Gazzetta Dello Sport, (via Talking Wolves) believed that Nuno preferred to rely on his loyalists rather than playing him.
The former AC Milan man, who is valued at £18m by Transfermarkt, said that he went to Wolverhampton with a lot of enthusiasm, and he thought that the fans loved him.
However, judging by these reactions, they certainly don’t love him anymore!

“I went to Wolverhampton with a lot of enthusiasm. The fans loved me, they dedicated a chant to me. In the end, I scored three goals from few minutes played, but I found a manager who preferred to rely on his loyalists”. [via Gazzetta dello Sport]#WWFC pic.twitter.com/NyAuZ70Hkt

Football is all about opinions, I wish him well but won’t lose any sleep over him leaving. Maybe in time he may prove us wrong in letting him go but Nuno wants a happy camp, A sulking young Italian isn’t going help. Cutrone’s maturity is alot less than Netto’s.

Donk couldn’t get a look in, Traore likewise. Both now after a bit of work undroppable. Kilman and Vinegar and MGW taking heed now. Cutrone would have been the same IMO but he didn’t fancy being told what to do. Could’ve been a Wolves hero…petulant fool.

The likes of Saiss, Bennett even Traore all had to bide their time and prove their worth. Seems like Cutrone just spat his dummy out #wwfc

He didn’t really grab his opportunity, the miss against Man city is what I’ll remember him for mostly ?

What do we think?
Many Wolves fans definitely wanted to see Cutrone succeed, but these comments are likely to alienate him from them now.
In the end, Cutrone managed to score three goals in 24 appearances and has joined Fiorentina on loan with an option to buy and will probably never return to the Black Country.
