Wolverhampton Wanderers are ‘on the verge’ of signing Enzo Loiodice from Dijon on loan with an option to buy, according to Tim Spiers.

As stated by the Athletic reporter, the France Under-20 international is due to have a medical with Wolves tomorrow ahead of his move to Molineux (as per Tim Spiers).

Weak season on paper

This season, the 19-year-old Frenchman has featured on just six occasions for his Ligue 1 club in all competitions (as per Transfermarkt).

Of those six appearances, he has completed 90 minutes on just one of them, with the other five clocking the youngster up just 123 minutes on the pitch, where he scored zero goals and assisted zero (as per Transfermarkt).

TiF Tactics – How does he compare to what Wolves have?

Judging from the 19-year-old’s minutes on the pitch for Dijon so far this season, it seems unlikely that Loiodice will be a regular starter for the Old Gold and more likely an understudy.

Therefore, the young Frenchman will most likely operate in a similar capacity to the club’s English 20-year-old, Morgan Gibbs-White, due to their similar age, minutes on the pitch and position.

So far this term, the English 20-year-old has featured 12 times in all competitions for the Old Gold, during which he has bagged one goal and zero assists (as per Transfermarkt).

In terms of an average rating, Gibbs-White has a weak 6.29/10 average rating for the season so far (per WhoScored), however, Loiodice has an even weaker 6.18/10 average rating for the term (per WhoScored).

Thus, the signing of Loiodice does not seem all the impressive at current, as he is comparatively weaker than Gibbs-White, however, he may have strong potential to develop.
