One fan even stated that he is the closest thing to Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, which is a major statement as the Egyptian has scored 14 goals and has provided eight assists in all competitions so far this season, as well as coming fifth in the Ballon d’Or rankings. Of course, Bowen’s return of 17 goals and five assists in the current campaign is very impressive, but he’s a long way off achieving what Salah has during his time at Liverpool.
Great signing. Been saying for months. I rate him above Dan James. Saw him at Hereford. He’s from West Midlands, Leominster. Blossomed into a great player. I don’t say this lightly but is closest thing to Salah you could buy. Get it done. Glad Tim Reporting it too.

Pleased to see us considering the domestic market. Our summer ‘18 signings settled well because they got a lot of football. Harder to break in now, as we’ve seen. So having a guy who knows the country and the pace of football perhaps the best chance of impact in January.

What do we think?
After a stellar season last term, in which the Englishman bagged 22 goals and four assists in 46 league appearances (per Transfermarkt), it is perhaps a surprise that Bowen has not yet earned a Premier League move.
With an impressive 14 goals and two assists in 42 league games the season previous, too, Bowen has proved that he can consistently do it and for £20 million could be a shrewd move from the midlands outfit.
