Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have shown their delight as Tim Spiers provided the information that the club are interested in signing Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen.

According to the Athletic (Written by Tim Spiers), the Old Gold are interested in signing the young English forward but he may cost around £20 million (via Talking Wolves), however, Wolves fans were delighted with the news.

One fan even stated that he is the closest thing to Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, which is a major statement as the Egyptian has scored 14 goals and has provided eight assists in all competitions so far this season, as well as coming fifth in the Ballon d’Or rankings. Of course, Bowen’s return of 17 goals and five assists in the current campaign is very impressive, but he’s a long way off achieving what Salah has during his time at Liverpool.

Would Jarrod Bowen be a good signing for the Old Gold?

No, he's not all that

So far this season, Bowen has featured in 29 games in all competitions for the Tigers, in which he has scored 17 goals and assisted five (per Transfermarkt).

With the report also suggesting that Nuno Espirito Santo is out to sign two forwards this window, Wolves fans were delighted that the 23-year-old may be one of them.

What do we think?

After a stellar season last term, in which the Englishman bagged 22 goals and four assists in 46 league appearances (per Transfermarkt), it is perhaps a surprise that Bowen has not yet earned a Premier League move.

With an impressive 14 goals and two assists in 42 league games the season previous, too, Bowen has proved that he can consistently do it and for £20 million could be a shrewd move from the midlands outfit.
