Spurs fans were delighted to hear that the club are considering a move for Norwich City right-back Max Aarons this month to avoid missing out on the player.

According to Sky Sports (via Daily Hotspur), several Premier League clubs including Arsenal, West Ham and Everton are interested in signing the Norwich man in the summer, but Spurs may steal a march on those clubs by signing him this month. Norwich are believed to be willing to let him leave for £30 million in January, perhaps to avoid losing him for less in the summer if they do succumb to relegation.

Aarons impressed last season for Daniel Farke’s side; winning the EFL Young Player of the Year for the promotion-winning Canaries, and his stock has continued to rise in the Premier League. The 20-year-old has made 21 appearances for Norwich, currently bottom of the league, as well as making five appearances for the England u’21s.

Should Spurs offer £30 million for Aarons?

Reaction from Spurs fans to the latest on Aarons can be seen in the tweets below.

One fan even suggested putting £25 million on the table, which could be seen as a typical Daniel Levy move, going under the £30 million value in order to try and achieve a deal, with his reputation as the most uncompromising dealmaker in football.

These Spurs fans clearly feel that Spurs should just make an official bid for the rising star rather than waiting too long and losing out on the 20-year-old.

What do we think?

Aarons could provide excellent back-up to Serge Aurier who has impressed so far this season; averaging a 7.29 rating for Spurs, but has proved to be erratic and inconsistent in the past. With other clubs certainly interested in Aarons, Jose Mourinho may want to make a move this month if he wants to bring the right-back to North London.
