Aston Villa fans have been discussing Indiana Vassilev’s appearance against Leicester City in midweek on Twitter.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @AVFC_Religion shared a post on their page asking their followers how Vassilev went on in his short cameo in the 1-1 draw on Wednesday.
Should Indiana Vassilev get more chances to play at Villa?
Yes
No
This post then led to many Villa fans replying to the post with their opinions on Vassilev’s appearance as a substitute late on in the match.
Here is a sample of Villa fans talking about Vassilev’s cameo in the midweek match:
He was energetic. I like the lad!

Couldn’t get into the game and I dont think anyone would’ve expected him to given the way the game was going

Been training with Wesley can’t bring the ball down.

Unfortunately he had to chase a lot of lost causes. Didn’t do anything, but not of his own fault

The 18-year-old came on as a substitute in the 74th minute to replace Anwar El Ghazi just as Leicester scored their equalising goal (per BBC), and was gifted a rating of 6/10 (Birmingham Mail).
This then led to Vassilev not having much time on the ball in the minutes he was on the pitch for. Despite not having a huge impact on the match, some Villa fans still recognised the teenager’s efforts in the game.
did what ge could given the time he had on the pitch and the circumstances.

Very pacey, didn’t have much service but thought he looked bright

Looks very hungry for the ball and chased well and put them under pressure but we weren’t able to get the ball to him. Try him against Brighton or Watford to see how is

What do we think?
It is good to see the Villa fans take the time to recognise and appreciate the work Vassilev put in the match when he came on.
It remains to be seen as to whether he will return to the side in the second leg against the Foxes as Dean Smith may not want to risk the youngster in what will now be a massive game.
