Spurs fans were delighted to hear that the club are looking to bring in Bruno Fernandes this month but face stiff competition from Manchester United.
According to Football.London reporter Alasdair Gold (via Daily Hotspur), the North London club are once again considering Fernandes but worry they may be financially out muscled by Manchester United, who are also interested in the Portuguese midfielder. Spurs have regularly been linked with the 25-year-old but looked to have missed out on the Sporting Lisbon man after he signed a new contract with the club back in November.
Fernandes has been in sensational form for Sporting so far this season; with 13 goals and 10 assists in 20 games for the Liga NOS side this campaign. The Portuguese international is currently valued at £54 million by transfermarkt and could be an expensive transfer for Spurs, especially if they are drawn into a bidding war with Ole Gunnar’s Solskjaer’s side is.
Who is more likely to sign Bruno Fernandes?
Spurs
Manchester United
Reaction from Spurs fans to the reported interest in Fernandes can be seen in the tweets below.
He could solve so many issues for us. He could be that creative midfielder with the killer pass and he can also play up top in Kane’s absence. If we somehow got him I would be ecstatic. World class player

These Spurs fans would clearly love to sign Fernandes and will be hoping that Mourinho can convince his Portuguese compatriot to make the move to North London this month.
What do we think?
Fernandes could be the ideal replacement for Christian Eriksen, who looks increasingly likely to depart during this month’s window, but the 25-year-old’s price tag may well prevent Spurs from making a move.
