Spurs fans were delighted to hear that Jose Mourinho is reportedly a big fan of Leicester City right-back Ricardo Pereira and is ready to offer £30 million in January.
According to the Daily Express (via Ricky Sacks), Spurs are readying a £30 million bid for the defender with Mourinho very keen on signing his Portuguese compatriot. The Leicester City man has been in superb form for Brendan Rodgers’ side so far this season; averaging a 7.57 rating for the high-flying Foxes.
Mourinho’s side have kept just two clean sheets in the Premier League all season, so it is no surprise to see the 56-year-old manager targeting defenders, especially one such as Pereira; who has been part of the league’s best defensive side thus far.
Is Pereira a realistic transfer target for Spurs?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the reported interest in Pereira can be seen in the tweets below.
He’s top 2 RBs in the league, would be a cracking signing, but doubt it will happen

This is kind of player we need at spurs. But I Can’t see Leicester selling him though.

£30m. That sounds like Levy

These Spurs fans would clearly love to see the club sign Pereira, although many feel that £30 million won’t be nearly enough to secure the services of the 26-year-old.
What do we think?
It seems unlikely that Spurs could tempt him to North London considering Leicester’s start to the season as they remain on course for a Champions League place, unlike Spurs. Also, £30 million surely wouldn’t cut it for a player who is valued at £36 million (as per Transfermarkt), but there’s no harm in trying.
