Spurs fans were less than impressed with Moussa Sissoko’s display in the 1-0 loss at Southampton on New Year’s Day.
The Frenchman was utilised on the right-wing until Tanguy Ndombele’s injury, when he was moved back into a more central position with Giovani Lo Celso deployed out wide. A lot of the Spurs team struggled in the loss at St Mary’s but the Frenchman’s performance earned him a very disappointing 6.1 rating from whoscored.
Sissoko signed for Spurs from Newcastle in 2016 and has gone on to make 151 appearances in his three years at the North London club; scoring just four times. Remarkably, two of those goals have come under Jose Mourinho after his appointment in November but overall the 30-year-old midfielder has struggled; averaging a 6.64 rating so far this season.
Should Sissoko Spurs' worst player against Southampton?

Hopefully someone puts a bid in for Sissoko, Dier & Aurier too….

Shambles, no defence or midfield. Get rid Sissoko & Aurier.

Ending a game with Lamela, Dele, Lucas, Eriksen, Lo Celso and Sissoko all on the same pitch is a product of appalling game management, player management, squad management and recruitment. It’s insane. And if it’s a message to Levy, then Mourinho will be left double blue ticked.

Seen some tweets complaining about mourninho and the style of play. It’s not his fault that these players can’t make simple passes or control the ball. Moura and Alli were a joke yesterday. Alderweireld and Vertonghen are past it and finished. Sissoko offers nothing.

These players are awful! Dele was useless. Vertongen is finished. Sissoko passes the ball when it’s easier to score! Kane has to create his own chances. Ndombele is a mystery and seems uninterested. Eriksen is toxic!

Give it a rest. You can’t coach Aurier, a past it Jan, Gazza, Dier, Sissoko etc. They’re not good enough.

Moussa Sissoko biggest fraud in football

These Spurs fans clearly don’t rate Sissoko after another poor performance from the Frenchman, with many suggesting that the club try to sell the 30-year-old in January.
What do we think?
Sissoko is a great athlete but has really struggled in recent weeks and showed in the game against Southampton that he cannot be trusted to play out wide. If Spurs could sell the £22.5 million rated man in January, then perhaps they could reinvest that in a midfielder with more technical ability.
