Spurs fans are seemingly not happy that the club continues to be linked with a move for Atletico Madrid winger Thomas Lemar.

According to The Independent, Spurs could make a loan offer for the Frenchman, with Goal also stating that Atletico Madrid are willing to listen to offers.

The 24-year-old has struggled to impress for Diego Simeone’s side since making the move from Monaco in 2018; with just three goals in 64 appearances for the Spanish giants.

The French international has made just 10 starts so far this season; averaging a disappointing 6.43 rating, so it is no surprise that Simeone is willing to let the winger leave on loan, in the hope perhaps that he can rediscover some of the form which he showed during his time at Monaco. Although he is currently valued at just £27 million, a report from the Independent suggests that Atletico could demand around €60 million (£51 million), should Spurs want to sign the 24-year-old on a permanent deal.

Reaction from Spurs fans to the update on Lemar can be seen in the tweets below.

These Spurs fans are clearly not keen on the potential signing of Lemar and will be hoping that the club looks elsewhere in January.

What do we think?

Spurs are well-stocked in the wing position, with the likes of Heung-Min Son, Lucas Moura, Ryan Sessegnon and Erik Lamela all capable of playing there, so it would be a surprise to see them bring in another winger in this month’s window. However, if they can bring him in on loan, perhaps the French international could make a positive impact.
