Spurs fans were disappointed to hear that the club are being linked with a move for Bayern Munich centre-back Jerome Boateng in the January window.
According to Bleacher Report journalist Dean Jones, Spurs have made an enquiry about signing the German defender during the January transfer window, but will face competition from Arsenal and Juventus. Boateng has struggled for game time so far this season; making just 15 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga giants.
The 31-year-old defender, once regarded as one of the best in the world, has found himself out of the Bayern side after a succession of injuries. Having joined from Manchester City in 2011, the German international has gone on to make 301 appearances for Die Roten but could see his nine-year spell at the club come to an end this month.
Would Boateng be a good signing for Spurs?

These Spurs fans are clearly not keen on signing Boateng, with many feeling that the 31-year-old is way past his best.
What do we think?
Boateng may not be as good as he used to be, but he could bring a lot of experience to a Spurs defence that has kept just two clean sheets all season. The German international is currently valued at £13.5 million, so could be a relatively cheap short-term solution for Jose Mourinho if they can bring him to North London.
