Some Tottenham fans have been raving about the performance of midfielder Giovani Lo Celso after the club’s recent 2-1 win over Middlesbrough in the third round of the FA Cup.
Lo Celso was on the scoresheet in the 2-1 win over the club from Riverside and it was a replay after the first game had ended in 1-1 draw away from home. Lo Celso’s Argentina teammate Erik Lamela was also on the scoresheet, helping Spurs set up a fourth-round clash away to Southampton.

Lo Celso joined Spurs in the summer of 2019 on an initial loan deal, with Tottenham having the option to buy the former PSG man on a permanent basis. Tanguy Ndombele also joined the club from Lyon, while Ryan Sessegnon also came from Fulham.
Since joining the club, Lo Celso has made 17 appearances in all competitions for the Lilywhites. He has scored twice, with the first goal coming in the UEFA Champions League game against Red Star Belgrade.
Lo Celso was playing under new Barcelona manager Quique Setien at Real Betis last season. He made 46 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 16 times and racking up six assists as well.
What do we think?
With Eriksen now seemingly edging closer to a move to Inter, Lo Celso seems like a good fit to replace the outgoing Dane. His numbers from the Benito Villamarin-based sideshow that he can score goals and create them in an equal measure. Spurs should sign him permanently as soon as possible.
