Spurs fans were shocked to hear that Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud reportedly wants to move to Spurs before Friday’s transfer deadline.
According to the Evening Standard, the French striker wants to join Spurs this month but fears that Chelsea could block any move for him. Spurs are in the market for a striker following the long-term injury suffered by Harry Kane earlier this month and the Frenchman could yet emerge as a replacement, having been linked with a move.
Giroud has made just six appearances in all competitions for Chelsea this season, scoring zero goals, with the 33-year-old having lost his place to Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi. The French international would bring a wealth of experience to Jose Mourinho’s side if he were to join, having scored 78 goals in 225 Premier League appearances.
Would Giroud be a good signing for Spurs?

He will be good. For me it can be the perfect match unfortunately. He’s in his 30s but still he plays well. He’s an excellent scorer in major competitions. We need him.

These Spurs fans would clearly welcome a move for Giroud and will be hoping that they can negotiate a deal before Friday.
What do we think?
Although Giroud would be a good option considering his experience and goal record in the Premier League, Chelsea are unlikely to want to sell him to their top-four rivals, so this move looks unlikely.
