Spurs fans were less than impressed to hear that Christian Eriksen is reportedly upset with the way fans have treated his imminent departure from the club.
According to Mail Sport (via Ricky Sacks), the Danish midfielder is deeply upset and frustrated with the treatment he has received from fans this season. The former Ajax man first revealed his intention to leave the club in the summer, with the midfielder refusing contract offers from the club, which has left Spurs scrambling to sell the 27-year-old in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season when his current deal expires.
Eriksen now looks likely to join Antonio Conte’s Inter side this month, which should finally put an end to his transfer saga, but fans have been critical of the Danish international’s performances and perceived lack of effort so far this season. The midfielder has been a regular under Jose Mourinho despite his situation, but has not really repaid his manager’s faith in him; averaging a disappointing 6.68 rating.
Is Eriksen right to be disappointed by the fans?

Tottenham Hotspur fans are deeply upset and frustrated with Eriksen’s play and behavior since the UCL final – he’s a shell of his former self. How could this ever have been amicable? We are about to take a bath on his transfer fee too! Honestly how did he see this going?

He deserves it, poor performances and no passion for the badge

The way he has treated club and played for the last 18 month is a disgrace and out of principal i would sit him in the under 21s till end of season

As much as we loved his time here, he went out sad due to his own actions. No tenacity, lethargic play, no urgency. Made it clear he didn’t wanna be here

Can’t really blame the supporters when he’s been putting in disasterclasses every week for 18 months

He’s brought it on himself sadly, left a bitter taste in our mouths with the performances and attitude. Wish him all the best for the future but there’s nothing left to give from the fans anymore.

Hes been brillant for spurs but the way hes played the last year what does he really expect really the club is trying to win games and hes just strolling about showing now heart at all and cant even beat the front post in corners it’s been shocking really

These Spurs fans are clearly not impressed with Eriksen being upset when they believe he has not really been putting in his full effort for some time.
What do we think?
Eriksen has been a fantastic player for Spurs during his time with the club; contributing 69 goals and 89 assists, but he cannot blame fans for voicing their opinions when his performances have been far from his best.
Hopefully the 27-year-old can complete his move to Inter as soon as possible, so both he and the fans can move on.
