Spurs fans were frustrated to hear reports that a move for AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek could be off the table due to the Italian club’s asking price.
According to Telegraph Sport (via Daily Hotspur), talks between the club have taken place, but the cost for the former Genoa striker is thought to be too high. Spurs are in the market for a striker to replace first-choice forward Harry Kane, after the England striker was ruled out until April with a hamstring injury.
Piatek is just one name who has been regularly linked to Spurs, despite the Polish striker being in disappointing form so far this season; with the 25-year-old having scored just four goals in Serie A this campaign. It seems therefore that Spurs were not willing to pay Milan’s asking price which was perhaps close to the striker’s current Transfermarkt value of £28.8 million.
Should Spurs have paid the asking price for Piatek?
Yes

Pathetic isn’t it? Where has all the money gone that we were going to spend on Dybala?

The only thing that should stop the deal is if Mourinho doesn’t want him.

These Spurs fans are clearly not happy with the reported news on Piatek, with one fan raising the valid point of Spurs being recently named the eighth richest club in the world, but not being willing to pay the fee for a replacement striker.
What do we think?
Spurs are running out of time to sign a replacement for Kane and it seems strange that they were not willing to pay up for Piatek, who has shown he can score goals wherever he goes.
