Spurs fans were disappointed to hear that Italian side Hellas Verona have reportedly made a loan bid for young defender Juan Foyth, which includes an option to buy at the end of the season.
According to Sports Mole, the Seria A side is looking to bring in the Argentinian defender and have approached the North London club about taking him on loan. The deal would reportedly include an option to buy the 22-year-old for just £8.4 million, which is causing some concern amongst Lilywhite fans.
Spurs originally signed Foyth from Estudiantes in 2017 but the youngster has failed to ever really establish himself in the first-team; making just 32 appearances in nearly three years at the club. Despite this, the versatile defender has nailed down a place in Lionel Scaloni’s Argentina side; featuring 11 times for his country, primarily as a right-back.
Which is the best option for Foyth?
Stay at Spurs
Loan move away
Permanent move away
Reaction from Spurs fans to the reported bid for Foyth can be seen in the tweets below.
Foyth’s got bags of potential. We mustn’t sell him permanently.

The club would be silly to accept deal worth €10m at end of season. Foyth is a decent player, just Jose isn’t a fan.
Can still see him going though if deal is right— days without a striker (@MattyFrench82) January 26, 2020
Given him enough game time, and he will be a special player.

Loan, yes. Potentially even for 18 months but no option to buy.

I have the feelimg there is a very good player in Foyth and we will regret the decision to let him go later on.
Hopefully we let him go on loan somewhere and see how he gets on.

Don’t sell him! Loan him for 18 months and have him come back. He has a great future.

Loan for 18 months would be good, no option to buy as I think he is quality, just needs game time and to iron out a few mistakes.

Too good to sell. Think he should get more games.

These Spurs fans would clearly prefer to see Foyth leave on loan rather than permanently and will be hoping that the club doesn’t agree to the reported offer from Hellas Verona.
What do we think?
Foyth has struggled in his performances so far this season; averaging a disappointing 6.05 rating for his few performances in the Premier League. A loan move would probably be best for the defender, as Spurs could regret letting him go permanently if he does start to perform elsewhere.
