Spurs fans were delighted to see Dele Alli’s frustration after the midfielder was substituted during the 0-0 draw with Watford at the weekend.
A video posted by LastWordonSpurs shows the England international reacting angrily to his substitution in the second half, as Spurs continued their poor recent form with the stalemate against Nigel Pearson’s side. The 23-year-old had started superbly under Jose Mourinho; having contributed seven goals and four assists this season, but his recent form has not been nearly as impressive.
Despite a fairly good performance against Watford; with the former MK Dons man earning a 7.08 rating from whoscored, he was pulled off by Mourinho in the second half as his side chased a winner. This was clearly a frustrating moment for Alli, who perhaps felt he hadn’t deserved to be taken off by the Portuguese manager.
Should Alli have been substituted against Watford?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the video of Alli can be seen in the tweets below.
It’s a good thing that he shows frustration – consistently has something to prove. But the big picture is that he is not good enough right NOW, which is why a lot of fans are annoyed that players like Bruno Fernandes are being overlooked for the sake of £10m I suppose

I like the passion, but maybe if he would actually put in the extra effort and extra training sessions he wouldn’t be subbed off? Because he was bad again

Deserved it not good enough again … Needs to focus this frustration on getting back to the Deli Ali we know is in there somewhere.

Being bullied by Watdord players. Not good. Playing like Eriksen today

Probably annoyed that he was shocking.

These Spurs fans clearly weren’t impressed with Alli’s overall performance against Watford and can, therefore, understand why he was frustrated.
What do we think?
It is good when players show a bit of passion and frustration with their own performances as it clearly means that Alli feels he can play a lot better and hopefully for Spurs fans he will able to rediscover his form in the upcoming weeks.
