Spurs fans were frustrated to hear that Ben Davies is still continuing rehabilitation on his ankle injury.

The Welsh defender suffered the injury in Jose Mourinho’s first game in charge against West Ham in November and is yet to return to first-team training. In his absence, Mourinho has trusted Danny Rose, Ryan Sessegnon, Jan Vertonghen and even Japhet Tanganga in that position, so it is no surprise to see Spurs fans frustrated that the 26-year-old is still some way off returning to first-team action.

Since signing for Spurs from Swansea in 2014, Davies has made 177 appearances for the North London club; contributing four goals and 17 assists. Injuries have prevented the £19.8 million rated man from ever really nailing down a starting spot in the Spurs side but with Danny Rose’s form so far this campaign, many Spurs fans will hope to see him back in first-team action as soon as possible.

These Spurs fans are clearly disappointed with the injury latest on Davies and will be hoping to see him back to full fitness as soon as possible.

What do we think?

With Spurs’ only other natural left-back Rose being linked with a move away from Spurs this window, and Sessegnon having struggled there in recent weeks, perhaps we will see Mourinho bring in another left-sided defender this month after the injury update on Davies.
