Spurs fans were shocked to see Christian Eriksen make an appearance during the 2-1 win over Norwich City on Wednesday night, with the 27-year-old on the brink of a move to Inter.
The Danish international replaced Erik Lamela shortly after the hour mark but struggled to make much of an impression on the game or the home fans; earning a disappointing 6.28 rating for his brief cameo. The former Ajax man is reportedly close to joining Antonio Conte’s Inter side but has still been regularly used by Jose Mourinho in recent weeks.
It may well prove to be the midfielder’s last game for Spurs but he did little to endear himself with fans, with whom he has already tarnished his reputation after revealing he wanted to leave the club last summer, before a dreadful start to the season which has seen him average a 6.66 rating. Many Spurs fans, including popular fan account COYS.com, were confused as to why the creative midfielder was introduced, when his head is perhaps elsewhere.
Do you hope that the Norwich game was Eriksen's last for the club?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to Eriksen’s introduction and performance can be seen in the tweets below.
He’s an absolute dead player, dunno how anyone could watch his last 6 months and want him. Love him for what he’s done but never want to see him in the shirt again.

Couldn’t agree more. His reluctance to tackle, run or even pass with competence has completely tarnished all the good he did at the club

There has to be a contractual obligation to play him. No way he should be pulling that shirt on

I hate Eriksen now, he has tarnished his legacy 100%

Eriksen is done in a #Spurs shirt. Even if he stays, he shouldn’t play for the first team again. Levy just needs to take any offer for him now and put the guy out of his and our misery. #thfc #COYS #TOTNOR

I would think that Eriksen is as confused as we are. Certainly he is playing that way.

The only thing I can think of is Jose is using him whilst he is still about. Making sure the other injury prone midfielders have enough time to get 100% fit after so many games recently.

100% #getgoneEriksen

These Spurs fans are clearly confused as to why Eriksen was introduced and will be hoping that it does prove to be his last game for the club.
What do we think?
Eriksen doesn’t really look interested in playing for Spurs anymore and the sooner the £81 million rated man can complete his move to Inter, the better.
