According to Bild, Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago has been told he can leave the club during this transfer window and that has alerted Tottenham Hotspur as well as a number of other clubs.
The 28-year-old has made 15 Bundesliga appearances so far this season contributing one goal but is yet to provide a single assist. The Spanish international is currently valued at £54m (via Transfermarkt.co.uk).
Hotspur Lane relayed the news on Twitter to their followers but would the Spurs fans be happy to see the former Barcelona star in their famous strip?

As can be seen, it appears one fan would believe that Thiago would be a ‘huge upgrade’ on Harry Winks and going based on WhoScored’s data for this season, there is a real possibility the Spaniard could be.
The 28-year-old Bayern man has managed to achieve an average of 1.6 tackles, two interceptions and 0.4 clearances in his 15 Bundesliga appearances to date, whereas the Spurs man has managed averages of 1.5, one and 0.8 respectively in his 18 Premier League outings.
Offensively, Thiago also offers more as he has an average of 0.6 shots per game and plays 0.7 key passes, whilst Winks only musters 0.4 and 0.6 respectively when going forward.
What do we think?
Thiago is a top-quality, highly-experienced player who would be an addition to any team and certainly an upgrade on anything else Spurs have in the midfield area. A four-time Spanish champion, six-time German champion and UEFA Champions League winner, it’s no wonder these supporters would love to see him at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Bayern Munich thrashed the Lilywhites in front of their own supporters back in October, a game in which Thiago played 45 minutes and his quality that day shone through.
