Premier League side Southampton have are now eyeing a move to sign Queens Park Rangers attacker Bright Osayi-Samuel in the ongoing January transfer window.

FootballInsider247 have reported that the Saints are one of the few clubs to be in the chase for the attacker, with the 22-year-old have been scouted by the club on multiple times. Southampton has received positive feedback while scouting Osayi-Samuel and they are preparing to make a late swoop for him in the January transfer window.

Southampton fans: Would a move for Osayi-Samuel make sense?

Would be a great signing!

The report goes onto state that the club wants to add attacking talent this month and Osayi-Samuel fits the bill for the Saints.

Impressing for QPR

A right-winger by trade, Osayi-Samuel has been impressing in the Championship for QPR this season. He has made 20 appearances in the division, scoring four goals, while also getting five assists.

This is the best season he has had when it comes to contributing to goals. Last season, the winger had made 27 appearances in the Championship last season and got only two goals. The 2017-18 campaign was his first at QPR and he got only one goal and one assist in that season.

He was formerly at Blackpool, where he made 79 appearances in all competitions and only got five goals and six assists.

TIF Tactics

The Saints have scored a total of 31 goals in the Premier League this season and that is the ninth-best record in the division. While that is an impressive number, Danny Ings has scored 14 of those goals. That shows how reliant the club is on Ings to get goals and they need to come from elsewhere too.

That is why a move for Osayi-Samuel will not be a bad one. He could score and create more going forward. That could shape the way Southampton do in the second half of the campaign, especially given his recent form, having produced three goals in his last three Championship games.
