Sheffield United are playing fantastically well at the moment. The club is challenging for fifth in the Premier League in their first season back in England’s top flight. It is an incredible achievement that manager Chris Wilder will be thrilled with.
This week, the club’s Twitter account posted a video of Chris Basham, showing the progress the player has made at the club. The tweet shares the statistic that says Basham played in three divisions and achieved two promotions over six seasons for the Blades.
In that time, he has made 250 appearances (Sheffield United). Sheffield United fans responded to the tweet, suggesting that he will go down as a club legend and that he is deserving of an England call up.

Probably the greatest ever Englishman to never play for England.

Is Chris Basham the greatest Englishman to never play for England?
Yes
No
Others admit that Basham had to win them over at first. They are certainly convinced now.
Can’t think of a player that’s changed my opinion of them as much as bash

What do we think?
Chris Basham is a true cult hero. He has played in 22 matches already this season for Chris Wilder and will almost certainly be in his plans for the season’s second half.
