There have been rumours surrounding Billy Sharp, Sheffield United’s captain, this week. According to some reports, there are a few Championship teams looking to purchase the player this January.
Manager Chris Wilder has suggested that he will let the player decide his fate. He can either stay and play Premier League football or go to the lower leagues where he can see out the rest of his career playing more regular football (Daily Mail). It is certainly a tricky decision for Sharp.
The club posted a photo of Sharp on their Twitter page calling him the GOAT. According to fans, they do not want to see the player leave. They think he has to stay. One supporter even calls him the glue keeping the team together.

Is Billy Sharp vital to the team's unity?
Yes
No
One supporter admits that, while he would love the player to stay, he respects that Sharp might be looking to play more regularly.
To be fair I would be sad to see him leave but at his age I imagine he will want to play.

What do we think?
It is never an easy decision for a player to move along in their career. If Sharp does decide to leave, it appears that he would be missed by these supporters.
However, with just 374 minutes of football played under Wilder this season, it is obvious to see why he could be looking for greener grass elsewhere.
