According to Football Insider, Sheffield United are quite keen on bringing in Sander Berge to Bramall Lane. It appears as though, while an original fee of around £18-20 million had been agreed between the two teams, Genk have upped the price.
But from talks on Twitter over the last day or two, Sheffield United fans aren’t worried about the fee. They think the club should take the plunge and spend the money. They claim that there is very little risk involved considering the player’s age, and reckon that the only worry would be if Berge were to suffer a major injury.

Sander Berge
This would be a ridiculously good coup for us if we pull this off. Champions League experience, touted by some of Europe’s top clubs, great age (21) an absolute unit at 6 foot 4 and completely different to anyone we have.#sufc #twitterblades #UTB pic.twitter.com/zY8n5CoM2z— SUFC Memories (@SUFC_memories) January 28, 2020
25 odd mil is a steal in todays market!

Low risk signing tbh. Only real risk is a major injury. Not gonna get too excited till the club announce it but would be the best signing we’ve ever made

I agree,it would be a real coup to sign Sander Berge & I have no doubt he’s suited to the premier league.
I don’t see it as a big gamble because at his age if he plays to his potential his sell on value will soar in 2/3 years— SteveCooper (@steveco87037733) January 28, 2020
Is Sander Berge worth £25-30 million?
Yes
No
One fan hopes that if the player comes he would be able to quickly adapt to the fast pace of the Premier League. They admit that the current fitness standards at Sheffield United are the highest in the league.
Complete baller!
Let’s just hope he can adapt to the pace and the style of us and the PL
One thing is for sure, he will have to get fitter because there isn’t one player in the league (except Milner) who’s fitter than our current crop of lads.— Mr Pie (@oomrpieoo) January 28, 2020
What do we think?
Football Insider’s article did suggest that Genk’s increased price has caused Chris Wilder and his team to consider other options. There is still time for the team to get the deal done, however, and it should make for a couple of interesting days until the window officially shuts.
