The latest Adam Lallana transfer rumour has got these Newcastle United fans divided, with some feeling the Liverpool midfielder is past his prime.
The latest rumour was shared by The Chronicle, but was an exclusive report by Telegraph: “Newcastle are keen on Liverpool’s Adam Lallana, who will be out of contract in the summer.”
Now considering Adam Lallana has played nine times in 19 matches for the current Premier League leaders Liverpool, you would think that every Newcastle fan would be jumping for joy with this rumour, however, the opinion’s of the fans are split. Perhaps it’s down to the midfielder’s age, with Lallana now being 31-years-old, some of the Magpies fans might be thinking he’s past his best.
Here’s what the Newcastle United supporters had to say about Adam Lallana on Twitter:

As if. Why would he come here? Would take him like a shot mind, head and shoulders above anything we’ve got.

Will Adam Lallana join Newcastle in January?
Yes
No
Adam Lallana has scored and assisted once in the Premier League this season and is currently averaging a rather mediocre Whoscored rating of 6.36/10.
If fit and firing – brilliant and will add another dimension. Still need others though #fingerscrossedforlatenufcchristmaspresent https://t.co/gwmTGWboJI

He’s on the decline. Don’t want to see us going down the route of signing older players on big wages.

What Do We Think?
If Adam Lallana is fit and ready to play, then he could be a very good addition to Steve Bruce’s side, however, being a 31-year-old midfielder means there’s no guarantee of that.
The 31-year-old started against Wolves last time out for Liverpool and also assisted Sadio Mane, so maybe there is still life in Lallana? We can’t see this deal happening and he will also likely cost a lot in wages too, which will put a few smaller clubs off completely.
