A lot of Newcastle United fans have reacted to Jim White’s comments on the proposed takeover.
The talkSPORT presenter believes that Mohammed bin Salman has deeper pockets than any of the Premier League’s other owners.
Do you believe this update on the Newcastle takeover?
Yes
No
White has been reliably told that talks are further along than what a lot of people think and that the Toon’s potential wealth would be on a different scale to Manchester City’s.
This has, of course, excited some Toon fans.
“A financial source in the City of London has told me (Jim White) today that the talks are a lot further advanced than a lot of people think.
He said this Saudi investment fund has the deepest pockets of the lot.
Forget Man city’s wealth, this is on a different scale.” #NUFC— NUFC360 (@NUFC360) January 27, 2020

What do we think?
This would be massive news – as if the story were true, then in a few years, Newcastle could be a real force in both the Premier League and Europe.
However, there is a long way to go before they can even dream of anything like this.
Mike Ashley has still not actually agreed to sell the club yet, and there are suggestions that even if he does, the Premier League might block the deal.
So, for now, these Toon fans need to sit back and wait for some developments.
