A lot of Newcastle United fans have reacted to a claim which originated from Daily Mail that Newcastle have made an enquiry for Glenn Murray.
Would Murray be a good signing for Newcastle?
Yes, proven Premier League goalscorer
No, well past his best
Both Newcastle and Aston Villa are said to have enquired about a loan until the end of the season, and the news has not gone down well with a lot of Toon fans.

This is more like it. Reports of Roma, AC Milan and other brazilian strikers now make way for a 36year old not good enough to get a game for Brighton….the ambition level is back to reality

What do we think?
Murray has only started in 14% of Brighton’s Premier League games so far this season, so it’s clear to see that a move away is needed if he wants to be playing regularly.
Still, he has over 100 goals for the Seagulls, so would he really consider leaving the south coast for a move up to Tyneside?
Of course, with all of Newcastle’s strikers struggling to score goals, Murray could become Steve Bruce’s first-choice striker if he could hit the ground running.
Last season Murray scored 13 Premier League goals, so in theory, Newcastle could do a lot worse.
However, at 36, this would be a short-term solution, and it would not be a signing that inspires a lot of the fans.
