What do we think?
The 25-year-old, who is valued at £4.5m by Transfermarkt, has joined the Magpies on loan till the end of the season with an option to buy.
Bentaleb returns to the Premier League four years after he last played for Tottenham, and he strengthens a midfield that contains the likes of Isaac Hayden, Jonjo Shelvey, Sean Longstaff, and Matty Longstaff.
The Algerian international established himself as an athletic box-to-box midfielder with FC Schalke, and it will be interesting to see what he can do for the Toon.
