Bernardo Silva set Manchester City on their way to a comfortable victory over their local rivals Manchester United in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg with a stunning strike.
The Portuguese star’s left-footed strike beat David De Gea just 17 minutes into the derby and that was followed up by goals from Riyad Mahrez and an own goal from Andreas Pereira.
The opening goal left the City fans purring on the club’s Twitter channel and there’s no doubt its one that will be replayed for years to come.

What do we think?
Bernardo Silva has struggled to replicate the form he showed last season and in many ways, he’s been a victim of his own high standards. However, his stunning goal at Old Trafford served as a timely reminder of exactly what he’s capable of.
Pep Guardiola named a side without a recognised striker and Bernardo was given the license to operate within the hole, an opportunity that he grabbed with both hands. According to WhoScored.com, the former Monaco player’s performance earned him a rating of 8.5/10 and he appears back to his best.
City will be strong favourites to progress to the final next month and will face either Leicester City or Aston Villa.
