Manchester City loanee Marlos Moreno joined Portimonense SC on loan in the summer but his move to the Portuguese outfit hasn’t gone to plan. According to A Bola (via Sport Witness), the Colombian isn’t part of manager Antonio Folha’s plans for the second half of the season.

As a result, City are set to recall Moreno and there are ‘several clubs’ said to be interested in signing him.

The winger has already had spells at Deportivo La Coruna, Girona, Flamengo and Santos Laguna but is yet to represent Manchester City.

None of the aforementioned loan spells have been particularly successful therefore Moreno’s reputation has taken a real hit.

TIF Tactics – A flop

During his time in Portugal, the 23-year-old has made just nine appearances and is yet to score a goal or even provide an assist – a worrying return from a modern-day forward.

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, Moreno’s value peaked at £900k back in July 2016 but a series of unsuccessful spells have seen that drop drastically to £360k.

It’s unclear who the reported interested parties are but one thing is for sure, City will not be receiving a significant transfer fee for the South American.

Signed from Atletico Nacional in 2016 for £4.95m, the Manchester club look set to lose out on a player they had high hopes for once upon a time.
