Manchester City is the ‘most likely destination’ for Athletic Bilbao defender Unai Nunez according to El Gol Digital (as per Man City).

The 22-year-old is said to be highly-rated in Spain and after the successful acquisition of Aymeric Laporte from the Basque club in January 2018, the Premier League champions could be set to raid them once again.

It’s reported that Nunez ‘refuses to renew’ his contract with Gaizka Garitano’s side in an attempt to force a move away from the La Liga outfit but what have the City fans made of the reports linking him with their club?

What do we think?

Nunez is a product of Athletic Bilbao’s impressive youth-setup and is gradually being integrated into the first-team. Starting mostly as a substitute, the young defender has made seven appearances in La Liga this season.

The player is currently valued at £13.5m (via Transfermarkt.co.uk) but its likely City would need to pay significantly more if they wish to sign the Spaniard. City are likely to go on a spending spree this summer in an attempt to rebuild therefore a move in the close season seems more likely.
