Liverpool fans have been responding on Twitter after the latest transfer news surrounding former Red Emre Can is reported.
This comes after Liverpool journalist Paul Tomkins shared a post on his official Twitter page replying to a tweet shared by Manuel Veth via Kicker that Can is on his way to Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season.
Is Emre Can good enough to play for Liverpool now?
Yes
No
Kicker also claimed that at the end of the season, Can would become a permanent Dortmund player, giving Can’s current club Juventus €23 million (£19.3 million).
And, it has since been claimed that the German side have reached a total agreement over his potential transfer.
This post then gathered a number of replies from Liverpool fans who were eager to share their thoughts on Can’s latest move.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans reacting to Tomkins post:
Emre vs Phil as mercenaries in a no holds barred fight for the Bundesliga title is not a scenario I envisioned two summers ago, but here we are

McManaman is an obvious exception and I’m sure there are others, but generally speaking leaving LFC is a bad career move.

The German left Anfield in the summer of 2018 on a free transfer to the Italian giants. But after making just eight appearances for Juventus so far this season, it looks like he could be on his way out this month. Now that this news has emerged of a potential move to Dortmund, some Liverpool fans have been discussing Can’s exit, and the departure of other players to have left the club in recent years on Twitter.
Klopp gets more out of players than most other managers, clearly

Even worse when you see what we have achieved since he left , wouldn’t get in U23s let alone first team now

Emre Can was a fool. Coutinho was ambitious- both players carrers going dowmhill whereas Henderson, Gini, Origi, Milner all their performance are on the uo since they left Liverpool https://t.co/Z45tYQBJb1

One fan even stated it is the same situation with Philippe Coutinho, which is correct as the South American moved to Barcelona but failed to live up to expectations and is currently out on loan at Bayern Munich.
Same with Coutinho. It’s amazing how some players can imagine themselves greater than the sum of the parts. I’m glad they both left and wouldn’t have either of them back if they were handed to us for free.

Besides Suarez, has any other player excelled after forcing a move out of LFC for “greener pastures” since McManaman? Owen, Torres, Coutinho, Can, all flops!

What do we think?
It seems as though these Liverpool fans don’t seem to have any sympathy with Can’s predicament at Juventus, or care too much about his move to Dortmund. That should send a clear message to any Liverpool player that leaves the club, present or future.
