Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans is suffering from a dip in form and according to WhoScored.com, he was the lowest-ranked performer for Brendan Rodgers’ side at Newcastle.
The Belgian has received regular criticism of late, and although he’s not performed anywhere close to his maximum recently, he’s been a victim of the very high standards he set for himself last season and at the start of this one.
Is Tielemans suffering from burn-out?
Yes
No
Thought Fuchs was terrific today.
Dived in too much at West Ham, but looked at home on the left of three centre-backs. He was strong, determined and read the game really well.
Tielemans was better, but was still way below his best again.#LCFC ratings: https://t.co/ha2rzAM83c

Chances have been there for Tielemans but he seems to have forgotten how to strike a ball ?
I would say he needs a rest but he’s just had one – recent form he’s been poor. #lcfc

The midfielder’s poor form has led to some calling for him to be rested.
Tielemans needs resting, not just sitting out a solitary game but resting
eg. Not just for the Wigan game he’d be rested for anyway, but also the Southampton game the following weekend

What do we think?
Youri Tielemans has started in 95% of the Foxes’ Premier League games this season and therefore fatigue could be playing a part in his dramatic slump in form. The Belgian is valued at £49.5m according to Transfermarkt.co.uk and perhaps the supporters have a right to demand more from the 22-year-old.
However, as the famous cliche goes, form is temporary and class is permanent and since arriving from Monaco initially on-loan, he’s displayed plenty of of it – with Graeme Souness being one pundit to notice what he offers the Foxes in the middle of the pitch when on duty for Sky Sports (per Goal).
Whilst things aren’t necessarily going his way at the minute, it would be wrong to begin questioning his overall quality. Perhaps taking him out of the team on a temporary basis would be helpful and allow him to take a breather without having his performances scrutinised so closely.
