Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury capped off an impressive away win at Newcastle with a stunning strike just three minutes from time.

The 22-year-old has struggled to nail down a regular starting position but provided his boss with a reminder of what he’s capable of as he entered the field on 77 minutes to make an impactful cameo appearance.

Choudhury has come through the youth ranks at Leicester and appears to be growing in popularity with the club’s supporters and therefore his goal prompted an incredible response on social media after the club shared the footage of it on their official page.

What do we think?

Choudhury hasn’t had anywhere near the number of opportunities he would have hoped for this season, but that would largely have to be down to the fact the likes of Wilfred Ndidi, Youri Tielemans and James Maddison have been so good this season as opposed to it being down to his own form.

The midfielder has made 12 league appearances but has only started in 24% of their fixtures so far. Brendan Rodgers has made it clear this season that he will need all of his squad if they are to achieve qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League but it’s unclear how long Choudhury will be willing to wait for a consistent run in the starting eleven.

There is no doubt he’s a player of great talent but whether or not Rodgers and his coaching staff can keep him fully engaged remains to be seen.
