Leicester City are amongst a number of Premier League clubs said to be keeping track of RB Salzburg star Hee-chan Hwang. According to the Athletic, both the Foxes and Everton have been monitoring the player’s progress for some time but Brighton and Wolves are also interested in his services.

The report goes on to say that whilst Brendan Rodgers’ side are unlikely to make a move for the Korean this month, he could be the subject of a formal bid in the summer.

The Austrian club have already lost Takumi Minamino and Erling Haaland this month and so are said to be desperate to hold onto the striker at least until the summer.

The 23-year-old has scored nine goals in all competitions this season with three of those coming in the UEFA Champions League. The remaining six have come in just 14 Austrian Bundesliga appearances but Hwang is not just a goalscorer – he’s an extremely competent provider having produced seven assists in the league this season.

The forward is valued at £11.25m (via Transfermarkt.co.uk) but its likely RB Salzburg will be looking for a far more significant fee.

Hwang is a strong dribbler and a good passer but despite his impressive goal return but his finishing is sometimes considered a weakness, despite finding the net on a semi-regular basis.

According to WhoScored.com, his average performance rating is 7.69/10 this season, highlighting the levels of consistency with which he operates.

There is every possibility that he can be an excellent signing for any Premier League club and if he continues to produce at this level for the remainder of the campaign, you can expect a bidding war for his services come the summer, should he not move on in January.
