Leicester City have reportedly launched an enquiry regarding the availability of Manchester United defender Luke Shaw. According to the Sunday Mirror (print edition, page 67, 12/1/2020) via Leicester Mercury, if the Foxes are able to do a deal for the former Southampton player, they could be willing to sell Ben Chilwell.
Manchester United paid £27m for Shaw back in 2014 but he’s failed to impress for the most part of his Old Trafford career and in response to the recent reports, the Leicester fans have made their feelings known regarding the idea of signing the 24-year-old to accommodate a move away for Chilwell.
Interestingly the report states that Chelsea are willing to pay £60 million for the left-back, which has got many Leicester fans eyeing a pay day for their club.

£60M crazy money for a grossly-overrated player with limited ability, who’s development has regressed to the extent he’s become a liability. No brainier we sell. Fee bankrolls/kick-starts our movement in the jan transfer market. Give Justin a run out & loan a LB til May #lcfc

What do we think?
Replacing Chilwell with Shaw would have to be considered a significant downgrade for Brendan Rodgers’ side. Shaw has repeatedly had his attitude and fitness questioned since joining Manchester United and that alone should raise red flags.
Chilwell has played an integral role in the Foxes’ success so far this season with Jonny Evans having sung his praises and losing him would come as a devastating blow. If Leicester are making enquiries it suggests they believe a significant bid for their 23-year-old left-back is imminent and that it’s one they may not be able to turn down. A move to Chelsea or indeed anywhere else for Chilwell still seems a long way off at the moment however if the situation does develop, Leicester will want to have a replacement already lined up.
